Federal funding is being made available to public and Indigenous groups looking to participate in the impact assessment for the proposed Spanish Mountain Gold Project.
Located roughly 70 kms northeast of Williams Lake, the project is an open-pit which is projected to produce up to 20,000 tonnes of ore per day for 14 years.
If approved, the project would include rock waste storage facilities, a rock processing plant, water treatment facilities, an overland conveyor, and n electrical transmission line, in addition to the pit itself.
Eligible individuals and groups can now apply for funding through the Impact Assessment Agency to participate in the project’s planning phase.
