Radio Boot Camp
Training Course
July 4th to August 12th, 2022
(6 weeks in length)
The CFNR Radio Boot Camp
is training intended to give Indigenous young adults the opportunity to be introduced
to professional equipment, industry knowledge and skill building
through instruction and practical hands-on.
With TRICORP’s support
the students will be introduced to:
• The basics of radio broadcasting
• Successful assembly and delivery of broadcast elements
• Various on-air roles
• Behind the scenes
Students will receive training that will enable them to broadcast their own radio show or podcast for their own communities and their Communications needs, and be a stepping stone for them in urban areas. Students will receive a certificate upon successful completion of this course.
Ideal Applicants
• Young adults
• Good attitude, and or
• Already demonstrated aptitude with some of these skills
• 6 weeks of instruction
• 8 students

This training will enable students to broadcast their own radio show or podcast for their own communities and Communications needs, and be a stepping stone for them in urban areas.

- Radio Commercials and Creative Writing
- Radio Personality
- Social Media
- Video ENG (Electronic News Gathering)
- The “Big Picture” of Radio
- Practicum
The training will take place in a COVID safe and daily sanitized environment with PPE provided.
The skills taught in our Radio Boot camp are foundational and transferable, even with the emergence of new media.
Podcasting and other types of production will benefit from the skills learned in this training.
Students will receive training they can implement in their community and help take their communication needs to the next level.
Learn how to produce Audio content, as well as, learn how to use Social and Digital media for the best communication practices.
Students will a certificate upon successful completion of this 6-week course
Participants must be:

Be of aboriginal ancestry

Be 18 years of age or older

Have or be able to acquire a valid driver’s license

Demonstrate a professional attitude, be punctual, and commit to the program

Be proactive in their training
