Over $3.1 Million in funding from the government of Canada is headed the way of the Prince George Airport.
It was announced earlier today that $1.7 million of the funds would be coming from Transport Canada’s Airport Relief Fund in order to make sure that important airport operations and essential air services for residents and workers in Prince George are operating at max capacity.
The Airport will also be getting over $1.4 million from Transport Canada’s Airports Capital Assistance Program so that they can buy a 4×4 snowplow truck and a wet/dry material spreader to keep their runways clear of ice and snow.
Another purpose of the funding is for it to support the expansion of a shelter to house and protect the airport’s aircraft rescue and firefighting vehicle from the elements, so that it’s always ready to be used for a rescue mission.
