At last night’s Prince Rupert City Council meeting, an interim parking management strategy was presented to the councillors.
This presentation showed off multiple different temporary solutions to the lack of parking, namely in the downtown area, in Prince Rupert.
The intention of these temporary solutions is for them to be implemented within 1-3 years and for them to eventually lead to permanent fixes to the issue.
These strategies were developed in part because Council’s 2022 Strategic Plan said that coming up with a parking strategy is one of it’s objectives.
Council voted to approve the temporary fixes and gave permission to staff working on the required budget to put these plans into action.
