Residents of the northwest, and much of BC, can look forward to yet another heat wave over the next few days.
Environment Canada has declared an extreme heat warning for inland sections of the north and central coasts, including Terrace, Kitimat, and Bella Coola.
Elevated temperatures are expected to stick around through Friday, hitting the low-30s during the day, and only dropping to the mid-teens overnight.
With temperatures that high, the risk of heat-related illnesses is elevated, especially for children, the elderly, pregnant women, and those with chronic illnesses.
Residents are advised to get plenty of water, avoid alcohol and strenuous activities, and to prepare a heat plan with locations to cool down both in the home and community.
