Environment Canada has maintained a heat warning for inland sections of the north and central coasts, and has extended it through Sunday.
In Terrace, Kitimat, and Bella Coola, temperatures are expected to hit the low 30s during the day, and only drop to the mid-teens overnight.
With temperatures that high, the risk of heat-related illnesses is elevated, especially for children, the elderly, pregnant women, and those with chronic illnesses.
Residents are advised to get plenty of water, avoid alcohol and strenuous activities, and to prepare a heat plan with locations to cool down both in the home and community.
