Two fresh faces will be joining the Williams Lake First Nation’s Council following yesterday’s elections.
Only the two of the five council spots, previously held by JoAnne Moiese and Shawna Philbrick, were up for debate, with both ultimately losing out in a close race.
Anne Louie ended up taking home the most votes with 78 to nab one spot, while Dancing Water Sandy took home the second with 50 votes.
They will join Chris Wycotte, Rick Gilbert, and Shae Chelsea to complete the Nation’s Chief and Council.
Incumbent Chief Willie Sellars had already been acclaimed for his second term last month, after the only other confirmed candidate dropped out.
