Terrace RCMP’s quarterly report sees an overall increase in files investigated, and welcomes new acting officer in charge.
Investigated files saw a 14 percent increase compared to the same period in 2021, while 2022 has seen a total increase of 19.5 percent.
Offenses like assaults and homicides increased by 20 compared to last year, whereas drug offenses decreased by 5.
A prolific offender management program has been established, as well as domestic violence and sexual assault coordinators being implemented.
The report was given to city council by new officer in charge Terry Gillespie (GILL like fish- espy) following Michael Robinson’s transition to a regional role.
