Fire Chief John Klie reported a series of bylaw amendment requests to Terrace City Council yesterday.
Amendments were made to fire prevention, nuisance, and ticket information utilization bylaws.
Fines and penalties were increased to encourage people to follow fire prevention bylaws, in response to changes in fireworks regulations.
Sale of fireworks will now only be permitted 3 days a year from October 29th to 31st, and are still only allowed to be set off on October 31st.
Nuisance bylaws have been updated additionally to reflect the fireworks bylaw changes.
Various ticketing amendments have also been requested, with most fines now reaching an amount of $500.
