According to a recently conducted survey, BC residents need to work on their understanding of the rules when driving in School zones.
2022’s BCAA Back to School Survey, which was conducted by Leger, gave BC drivers a D grade overall for not understanding or not knowing about certain School zone driving rules.
Around 80 percent of participants know the speed limit is 30 km/h and 88 percent know school bus stopping laws but 74 percent didn’t know how to tell when a school zone ends, 69% are confused about stopping in school zones, and 42% don’t know the speed limit when school is not in session.
As a result, the BCAA’s Director of Community Engagement is encouraging all drivers to work on their knowledge of School zone rules in order to avoid putting children into any danger.
