A total of 44 moose hunting permits will be allocated by the Nisga’a Lisims Government for the 2022 season.
All tags handed out for the Nass Wildlife Area will be for bull moose, with no cow or calf hunting allowed.
Nisga’a hunters have until September 23rd to submit their name for a random draw to distribute the tags, conducted no later than September 29th.
Only one tag will be handed out per household, though multiple members of a household can submit their names for permits, and permits cannot be transfered once awarded.
This year’s moose hunting seasons will occur from October 1st to November 15th, and from November 16th to December 31st.
Interested hunters can submit their names to the Nisga’a Fisheries and Wildlife Office at 250 633 2617, or by e-mailing nicolem@nisgaa.net.
