Protests are being held outside a Kitimat elementary school all week as parents look to challenge a recent hiring by the District.
Their complaints surround the hiring of a man accused of inappropriately touching children at the Haisla Community School in 2019.
Those accusations were initially brought forward by Richard Pollard, the organizer of the protests which began at Nechako Elementary School yesterday.
An investigation was launched following the allegations, but brought forward no charges from the Prosecution Service.
While no charges were pressed, the man did leave the school later that year, but has allegedly since been hired by School District 82 to work at Nechako Elementary.
District Superintendent Aaron Callaghan attended yesterday’s protest, but did not mention whether any actions or investigations will take place.
