Prospective candidates have until 4:00 tomorrow afternoon to submit their nomination packages for the upcoming municipal elections.
In Terrace, 8 nominees looking to fill 6 available council seats have now submitted their packages.
Among them are four incumbent councillors: James Cordeiro, Lynne Christiansen, Brian Downie, and Dave Gordon.
Chris Apps, Martin Holzbauer, Peter Moloney, and Sarah Zimmerman have also submitted packages, while current Councillor Sean Bujtas is the lone Mayoral candidate so far.
In Prince Rupert, Chrystopher Thompson is the only one to officially submit their package, though ex-Mayor Herb Pond has announced his intent to run again.
Five nominees have submitted packages for 6 Council seats in Prince Rupert so far, including incumbents Wade Niesh and Gurvinder Randhawa, along with Andy Chugh, Teri Foster, and Sheila Gordon-Payne.
And in Kitimat, Mayor Phil Germuth is the only one to submit a package for the mayoral race so far.
Councillor Terry Marleau is among three to submit packages for a council spot, though Councillors Mario Feldhoff, Mark Zielinski, and Edwin Empinado all say they intend to run again.
Gerry Leibel and Leah McCormick will also run for a seat at the council table.
This year’s elections will take place on October 15th, with campaigning set to begin on September 17th.
