In the wake of some serious flooding in Pakistan, the Province of BC is going to be donating relief funds to Canada’s Red Cross to help out the country’s citizens.
Over $200,000 will be going from the province to the Red Cross, who started the Pakistan Floods Appeal in order to assist the people most affected by the record breaking monsoon rainfall in the country.
All the money raised will allow for the Red Cross and the Red Crescent Movement to provide relief, conduct recovery and resiliency activities in Pakistan and it will help the organizations deal with other related and potential future disasters.
Pakistan has been dealing with these monsoon floods since June and the floods have affected 33 million people and caused over 1,300 deaths so far, in addition to the widespread infrastructure damage that has been caused as well.
