A new tentative framework agreement has been reached between the province and the largest union representing K-12 school support staff in BC.
Reached between the Public School Employers’ Association and Canadian Union of Public Employees, the agreement covers members of their K-12 President’s Council.
Approximately 40,000 unionized workers from all 60 Districts are included in the agreement, including: education assistants, custodians, maintenance workers, Indigenous support workers, and more.
Agreed to under the Shared Recovery Mandate the framework fills one part of the local agreements for the staff.
Negotiations will now shift to the District level, before a final contract is signed.
