On Tuesday evening in Kitimat at around 7:28 PM, a Kitimat RCMP officer spotted a textbook case of how not to conduct oneself while driving.
A vehicle was driving eastbound on Haisla Blvd and was swerving back and forth within it’s lane.
Police checks via the licence plate number also discovered that the driver of vehicle did not have a valid BC driver’s licence and as a result, a traffic stop was effected.
After the vehicle was pulled over, it was noted that there was an odor of liquor coming from the driver and after the driver provided two samples for alcohol analysis, both produced a fail result.
The driver was then told by Police that they were prohibited from driving, the vehicle was impounded and the driver got a ticket for not having a driver’s licence.
Kitimat RCMP are using this case to further emphasize to residents just how important planning a safe ride home is.
