A collaborative partnership between two Cariboo area First Nations is being honoured for their work to restore damaged forests.
Selected as Partnership of the Year, CCR is a joint-venture between the Tsideldel and Tl’etinqox First Nations, founded in 2017.
Initially the company was formed to address the abundance of dead pine in the Chilcotin, and to reduce wildfire risks and rehabilitate forests near Alexis Creek, damaged by mountain pine beetles.
Since then, they have evolved to use both traditional and innovative to bring sustainable changes in the landscape and economy of the region.
Now, their goal is to coordinate and implement large-scale forestry initiatives within their traditional territory, while supporting economic opportunities.
