Yesterday evening, a meet and greet was held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 13 in Terrace so residents could come get to know the candidates for City Council.
While at the event, all of the candidates were willing to give out more information about what their platforms were about.
Brian Downie talked about wanting to develop more services and facilities to meet the needs of residents.
Candidates like Chris Apps, Inder Dhillon, Keenan Stella and Melissa Linn all put a big spotlight on dealing with the issue of affordable housing.
MaryAnn Freeman and James Cordeiro both really want to make downtown Terrace a lot safer for residents.
Other candidates like Martin Holzbauer, Lynne Christiansen, Dave Gordon and Peter Maloney are all seeking to be voices for the city and wish to help in whatever way they can.
Sarah Zimmerman and Lynn Parker really hope to advance reconciliation if they are elected.
But Yvonne Nielson spoke more about an issue that wasn’t highlighted by the other candidates.
Danny Nunes was asked for comment but declined to do so.
Election day is this Saturday and Terrace residents can cast their vote at the Terrace Sportsplex.
