A documentary which highlights what is possible when a small but dedicated group takes a stand against perilous odds is coming to Terrace.
Titled “The Klabona Keepers”, the film follows a group of Tahltan Elders known by the same name, and their fight to protect their Sacred Headwaters.
Created over 7 years, the film documents 15 years of matriarch-led resistance against some of the world’s largest multi-national resource extraction companies.
Footage ranges from tense stand-offs with industry and police, to intimate moments with youth during their successful resistance.
Klabona Keepers and Tahltan youth will be on hand to share stories when the film screens in at the REM Lee Theatre on November 3rd at 6:30 in the evening.
All proceeds from the film will go towards youth programming at the Klabona Sacred Headwaters.
Tickets are free and available at Misty River Books, or at the door.
