With both climate change and extreme weather becoming a bit more frequent inside the Province, BC’s residents are being encouraged to give their opinion on what they think is the best way to prepare for flooding and other extreme weather events in the Province.
The Ministry of Forests and Emergency Management BC are putting out an intentions paper focused on specific actions to mitigate flooding.
This paper will also bring up discussion points about improved assessment, decision-making, preparedness and response, and crucial investments to safeguard communities.
The paper will be available to the public until January 3rd next year and then the government will use the feedback to create the British Columbia Flood Strategy.
