Not long after 1 in the morning earlier today, Prince George RCMP officers were patrolling the 7600-block of Gladstone Drive when they saw a vehicle leave a residence that was known to police as having ties to the illicit drug trade.
Once the vehicle noticed the police, it began to accelerate and speed away and continued on even when police activated their emergency lights and sirens.
Eventually the police car chasing the suspect vehicle stopped but when the vehicle saw more police officers attending the area they were headed, it went back the other way and eventually rammed the stopped police car before swerving onto a sidewalk and fleeing.
Police were soon able to locate the vehicle, which was located on the 7200-block of St. Lawrence Place with the occupants having fled, but they were also located not long after that in a travel trailer on the 7500-block of Julliard Place, which they broke into so they could try and hide.
Both suspects were arrested without further incident and will remain in police custody until they can attend court and the officer in the rammed car was not injured.
This is the second time in less than a week that a Prince George police car was rammed in a vehicle chase.
