Australian gold mining company Newcrest Mining has shut down all operations at their Brucejack mine site near Brucejack Lake.
The main reason for the shutdown is due what has been called a critical incident involving a mine team member that resulted in a fatality.
The team member in question was working in the mine for Procon, the mining and development contractor working with Newcrest at the mine.
Newcrest confirmed in a press release from earlier today that the team member unfortunately passed away due to the incident.
No other information has been revealed and the site will continue to be shut down for the time being.
