A date has been set for David Eby to officially be sworn in as Premier, and that date is November 18th.
This news has come only a day after Lieutenant-Governor Janet Austin asked Eby to start the process of forming government as he transitions into his new position.
The 46-year-old Eby is set to become BC’s 37th ever premier and his swear-in ceremony is planned to happen at Government House.
Eby became the leader of the BC NDP party due to previous premier John Horgan stepping down for mainly medical reasons and because his only competition in the leadership race, Anjali Appadurai, was disqualified from the race after she supposedly worked with third parties to get more people to sign up for NDP memberships and vote for her in the leadership race, which is against the rules.
