A news release was crafted and put out yesterday by the BC Crisis Line Network as a response to the Closing Gaps, Reducing Barriers: Expanding the Response to the Toxic Drug and Overdose Crisis report.
The report details recommendations for how to better deal with issues relating to BC’s toxic drug crisis among several other items.
The release put out by the network went onto state that they were very pleased that the Select Standing Committee on Health, who did the report, were recommending that crisis lines provide services like follow-up calls after a toxic drug-related event and integrating mental health calls into 911 call options.
The network also mentioned that they were looking forward to working with the Provincial Government and other organizations to make these recommendations a reality.
