A delegation from BC will be making it’s first post COVID trip to Japan on a forestry trade mission.
The main goal of the mission is to create more market opportunities, meet with overseas customers and partners, and encourage them to expand their use of B.C. wood products.
This trip is expected to last 5 days and the delegation will feature the likes of Forest Minister Katrine Conroy, federal and provincial officials, Indigenous leaders and more.
Some the activities that the delegation will take part in include hosting a customer appreciation reception at the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo, taking a tour of the Tokyo University of the Arts nail-laminated timber demonstration project, meeting with Japanese officials from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transportation, Tourism, the Japan Forestry Agency and more.
