Back on October 2nd, the Fort St John RCMP looked into two separate yet suspicious arson cases that happened within an hour of one another.
The first case happened at 8:10 PM and saw a City of Fort St. John pickup truck get lit on fire intentionally while parked at the Pomeroy Sports Centre located at 9708 93rd Ave.
The second case involved another vehicle and this time, it was a Overdose Prevention Van belonging to Northern Health getting lit on fire in Northern Health’s parking lot behind 9830 100th Ave.
Both vehicles were seriously damaged and neither case had an immediate suspect.
After a serious investigation, the Fort St. John RCMP determined that 27-year-old Dennis Wyczesany, was the person responsible for the arsons.
Charges of two counts of Arson and Damage to Property have since been laid against Wyczesany and he is currently being held in custody so he can appear before a Provincial Court Judge.
But with multiple other fires occurring within the Fort St John area around the same time still being under investigation, the Fort St John RCMP are asking anyone with helpful information for those cases to contact them at 250-787-8100.
