Two northern organizations have placed among the largest Indigenous businesses in BC for 2022.
Each year, Business in Vancouver compiles a list of the biggest Indigenous businesses province-wide, by number of employees.
Last year, the Tahltan Nation Development Corporation came it at number one on the list, and has once again nabbed a top spot.
With a peak of 319 employees, and roughly 500 total employed throughout the season, the TNDC nabbed the number 3 spot on this year’s list.
But another northern organization, the Halfway River Group, was able to surpass them, coming at number 2, employing 600 individuals at their peak.
Khowutzun Economic Development, an arm of the Cowichan Tribes, took the number one spot, with 800 peak employees.
