Unionized support staff at 5 post-secondary institutions have reached a new tentative bargaining agreement with the province.
Signed between the Post-Secondary Employers’ Association and CUPE, the agreement was made under BC’s Shared Recovery Mandate.
Institutions which signed on to the tentative agreement include: the College of New Caledonia, College of the Rockies, Camosun College, North Island College, and Vancouver Island University.
In total, roughly 2,100 CUPE-represented employees from library and technical support staff, to food and beverage workers, to administration are covered under the agreement.
While the agreement lays out the main compensation items, individual agreements must still be made at the local level, under the province’s two-tiered bargaining system.
