After twenty years of being known by one name, the BC Liberal Party is now going to be known by a different name.
In an online vote that concluded yesterday and saw about 8,000 party members put forth their vote, the BC Liberal Party was 80 percent in favour of changing their party name to BC United.
This vote was initially constructed after a June convention resolution where a majority of delegates wished for a new name.
Out of all the 20,000 names suggested, the popular name throughout BC’s regions among the party members was BC United.
Now a ratification process will begin as a part of a delegated convention.
