It was announced in the evening of yesterday that the Federal Government will be investing about $1.04 million into a first of it’s kind project in BC.
The project in question is to help businesses in British Columbia lower their environmental footprint in addition to creating new jobs.
The funding will also be headed to the University of British Columbia, as they will be the ones who help the local businesses implement some new cutting-edge circular economy practices.
Circular Economies have been touted as making sure that nothing goes to waste as well as making sure that every resource gets used to it’s fullest potential via reusing, repairing, refurbishing, remanufacturing, repurposing, or recycling.
And with the funding, the UBC will be able to help local businesses connect with the engineering experts that can show them how to save industrial materials from landfills and how to design new green products made from fully bio-sourced materials.
