Back on the evening of November 19th, the Williams Lake BC Highway Patrol set up a check point on 2nd Avenue North and Boundary Street checking for impaired drivers.
Two vehicles made their way to the check point at the same time and a patrol officer stopped them both since they suspected both drivers were potentially impaired.
Those suspicions were proven correct after a breathalyzer test and both drivers were quickly issued driving prohibitions and their vehicles were impounded.
Another impaired driver was pulled over at the check point, who was then served driving prohibitions and their vehicle got impounded, in addition to another driver, a class 7 driver, getting hit with a 12 hour driving prohibition and 4 violation tickets for alcohol related offences.
RCMP have since warned that Impaired Driving remains one of the top causes of criminal death in BC and that after a night of drinking, you always need to plan a safe ride home.
