A long-standing Memorandum of Understanding between Northern Health and the University of Northern BC has been renewed.
Initially established in 2010, the learning and research partnership agreement was renewed in both 2016 and 2018, to update priorities.
Under the agreement, both parties commit to furthering knowledge about and advancing the capacity of health care in northern BC.
Priorities outlined in the 2022 renewal include: recruitment and retention to address critical resource shortages, co-development of research initiatives, development of better collaborative supports.
In support of the recent In Plain Sight report update, the renewal also commits them to enhancing cultural safety, while reducing Indigenous-specific racism.
