A fresh 126 thousand dollar investment by the provincial government aims to improve adult literacy in the Fort St John area.
The funding will flow through Northern Lights College in support of eight community adult literacy programs made possible by partners in the region.
Different programs will allow for both one-on-one tutoring and small group training, which will provide basic skills such as stronger reading and writing, basic day-to-day math skills, and opportunities to better connect with the community.
It is estimated that more than 700 thousand adults in BC struggle with literacy challenges.
