The City of Quesnel is attempting to clarify concerns over an upcoming construction project.
According to a release from Mayor Bob Simpson this morning, there is still public confusion circultating regarding the Reid Street revitalization project.
Simpson says that the project offered plenty of opportunities for residents to have their input on the project heard, and reiterates that it is a worthwhile use of tax dollars.
The main reason for the project is to replace a water main that runs under the street that was installed in the 1950s and is no longer serviceable.
Since the entire street must be torn up in order to undertake the project, the street and sidewalk will simultaneously be upgraded.
The street will be redesigned to have wider pedestrian sidewalks and a single vehicle lane.
