Devastating smoke filling the skies in BC has begun to dent many people’s vacation plans.
Airports across the province, especially in the interior and Kootenay’s, have begun cancelling flights due to safety and visibility concerns.
Airport officials are calling the dense, fog-like, smoke the thickest they’ve ever seen in the skies.
Environment Canada set the health-risk rating at a 10 over the weekend for much of the province, including Quesnel, Prince George, Williams Lake, and Whistler, as well as many areas in the Southwest portion of the province.
All residents are being asked to remain indoors if at all possible, avoid strenuous activities, and check flight information regularly if you plan to fly in or out of the province.
